Volunteer Workdays

Volunteers Wanted - help with our alpacas and gardens and work with our kids on the autism spectrum!

Join us to volunteer at Learning 4 Life Farm.

No experience needed!
All necessary tools will be provided, but feel free to bring wheelbarrows/shovels for gardening.
Bring your own drinking water, sunscreen and work gloves - we will have extras if you need them.
Feel free to bring friends or family members with you - any and all help is appreciated (please note all volunteers over age 18 need a background check on file and minors need a waiver signed by parent/guardian).
Restrooms will be available.
We will be working outside and in our unheated hoop house, so please dress for the weather.
Volunteer shifts available Monday-Friday between 8:30am and 3pm, 2-4 hour shifts available.

Learning 4 Life Farm Volunteers and Interns - Background Check Required

Learning 4 Life Farm volunteers and interns age 18 and over who will be onsite are required to complete an FBI fingerprinted background check, at their own expense, and have the background check agency submit the results to Learning 4 Life Farm. This protects our students, our minor-age volunteers, and you as a volunteer.

We recommend the Licking County Educational Service Center or the Franklin County ESC, or your local county Educational Service Center. You do need to make an appointment online in advance. Since we are an educational program our volunteers qualify to get fingerprint background checks through the ESC. Cost is about $35. We do ask that our volunteers pay this expense and we do not reimburse our staff or volunteers for this cost.
Make an appointment for an Ohio FBI Fingerprint Background Check. You will go in to their location and they will get your fingerprints and then run the background check.
An FBI Background Check is required in ODE code 3319.39B1
Please have results electronically sent to ODE, emailed to [email protected] and a hard copy mailed to Learning 4 Life Farm, 3060 Johnstown Utica Rd, Johnstown OH 43031
FBI background check is good for 3 years and will then need renewed.
If you recently had a background check (within the past year) you can call the service that did the background check and have them send a report to the above email address and mailing address.
