Bob Hooker - Volunteer Beekeeper
Known to our kids as “Beekeeper Bob”, Bob Hooker has been keeping honey bees for 45 years and serves as our Farm registered beekeeper, establishing our beekeeping program and donating bees and equipment in 2021. He and his wife, Mary Hooker, are key volunteers in our gardening program as well, and he can often be spotted hauling compost and topsoil in a front loader or traversing our Alpaca Trot course in an RTV. He has served as a member of the Central Ohio Beekeepers Association and The West Virginia Beekeepers Association and is a past president of both the Ohio State Beekeepers Association and the Harrison County Beekeepers Association. He is also a certified pollinator expert through the OSU College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. A retired United Methodist pastor, he lives in Groveport, Ohio on three acres with his wife Mary and their beagle, Andy, and spends time each week with their three kids and four grandkids.
