Amy Hurst - Director of Operations
Amy Hurst, Learning 4 Life Farm's Director of Operations, has a bachelor of science in Horticulture from The Ohio State University and over 20 years experience in education, environmental activism, organic farming and gardening, advocacy, nonprofit administration, outreach, and programming. She has a degree in horticulture from The Ohio State University with a focus on sustainable and organic agriculture, and has worked with local environmental groups including Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association, Ohio Citizen Action, and Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed, arts and education nonprofits including Glass Axis and Law and Leadership Institute, and activist groups including Showing up for Racial Justice and Children With Medical Handicaps Parent Group. Her work with Learning 4 Life Farm allows her to combine her love of gardening and environmental activism, working with kids, and outreach, fundraising and nonprofit administration, with her passion for increasing community accessibility for people with disabilities. She received the Licking County Soil and Water Conservation 2019 Educator of the Year award for her work with our gardening program. She lives in New Albany, Ohio, with her husband and young daughter, and is the parent of a young adult living with cerebral palsy.
